'I'm happy to be back home for Christmas' SINGER Shane MacGowan flew into Dublin last night to spend Christmas in Ireland with his parents - and celebrated by downing a pint of water in the airport bar.
The ex-Pogues lead singer said he was happy "to be home. I always spend Christmas in Tipperary with my mother and father and will travel down home on Christmas day," he said. "Well I am a resident of Ireland after all."
But being home for the holidays doesn't mean that Shane can leave his work behind and soon after landing he was off to the Olympia for the first of two gigs.
